PY-side pressure type weight sensor

1. Product Introduction

The PY side-pressure type weight sensor, from WTAU, has a core component that is a fastener with a rope groove. It is installed at the fixed end of the steel wire rope. When lifting something, as soon as the steel wire rope is subjected to force, the rope grooves at both ends will pull the fastener in the middle outward, causing it to deform. The sensor then outputs an analog signal to tell you how tight the rope is now.

2. Main functions

The main function is to measure the tensile force (tension) of the steel wire rope, which is installed at the fixed end of the steel wire rope. The features are stability, accuracy, and a wide measurement range. The protection grade is IP66, which means it does a good job in dust and water resistance and can withstand outdoor environments. The item itself is also lightweight and easy to carry.

3. Scope of application

It is most suitable for use in lifting equipment where the steel wire rope has a fixed end on the lifting structure. To put it simply, it's a device where one end of the steel wire rope is fixed, and the PY sensor is installed at this fixed end.

4. Technical parameters

The measurement range is from 10 tons to 50 tons (10,15,20,25,30,40,50 tons). The sensitivity is 1.0±0.005mV/V. In terms of accuracy, the comprehensive error is within ±31T to 3T! Within F.S (full scale). Zero point balance ±1%! F.s." Input impedance: 750±20Ω, output impedance: 703±3Ω. The insulation resistance is extremely high, ≥5000MΩ. The working temperature range is wide enough, and it can operate from minus 30 degrees to plus 70 degrees. The safe overload capacity can reach 150%! F.S, the limit can reach 200%! F.s." The power supply should be 10 to 12V direct current (with a maximum not exceeding 15V). Protection grade: IP66.

5. Size

The magnitudes vary with different ranges. For instance, for a range of 1 ton, the height H is 95.5mm, the width B1 is 40mm, B2 is 60mm, and the length L is 180mm. The applicable steel wire rope diameters range from Φ6 to Φ14mm. The larger the measurement range, the larger the size is generally. The dimensions from 1 ton to 10 tons are all listed in the table (1t, 2t, 3t, 5t, 10t), and those over 10 tons can be customized separately. When installing, just select the model according to the diameter of the steel wire rope.

6. Typical applications

The Keling crane (a type of Marine crane) used on ships. The picture shows a schematic diagram of a Keling crane overload limiter. The PY sensor is installed at the fixed end of the steel wire rope to monitor the force on the steel wire rope in real time when lifting objects, preventing overload accidents.
